This is where you are introduced to my current series. The featured story will be divided into segments displayed a week at a time. This gives the average reader plenty of time to sample the contents but like any good recipe the ingredients only last for a moment. Let's begin ...
Jessica could remember her first encounter with Jock. They were both students at the University of Wellington. Jesse majored in English and was a sophomore. Jock majored in Engineering and was a senior. Jesse was sitting by a group of pine trees, her long curly hair gleaming in the noon-day sun. She had been through a grueling two-hour examination and was glad for the reprieve. Jesse didn't notice him until his tall well-built frame rather eclipsed her smaller curvy one.
"Hello. Am I interrupting something?" he replied. As she looked up, she stared into the most attractive pair of light gray eyes to go with and equally stimulating face. Jock also possessed a pair of very sensuous lips. Jock had tilted his head to one side; revealing a long wavy ponytail. He was definitely a "knock-out". Her voice caught as she replied.
"Why hello, I was just thinking about all the things I should have put on the exam but didn't. It seems like one is always faced with a mental block when taking a test." Why am I rambling? She thought.
"Yes—well do you mind if I sit down?"
He was already kneeling half-way down as he asked.
"No, I don’t mind if you sit down. I'm Jessica Harris," she extended her small well-manicured fingers, void of anything but clear polish.
"Hello again Jessica Harris, my name is Anthony Emerson, but my friends called me Jock.” He smiled.
"Jock". Jock, the name rung like a bell.
Jock couldn’t seem to keep his eyes off Jessica. Jock thought she was the most beautiful woman he had seen in a very long time. Jock admired her soft, silky mahogany-colored hair. Jock like the richness of it and how it cascaded down her back in a sexy-wild way. Jock could swear that those large oval brown eyes melted every time he gazed into them. Jock knew right then that he wanted Jessica. This woman would be the one to make him complete. Jock had no idea how he would win Jessica, but win her he would. His thoughts must have been conveyed to her because she looked up at him with a questioning look on her face.
"Excuse, me?!" Jessica said. It wasn’t usual for her to allow a perfect stranger to touch her hair, but there was something about Jock that gave her great satisfaction.
Jock had stared at her so intently that he wasn't aware that she had spoken. He knew that he should not have taken such liberties, but he couldn’t resist. Looking down at her, he had the desire to take her into his arms and ravish her. He had already made one mistake, he wasn’t about to make another.
Jessica continued to study him studying her. Neither said a word. It was as if time stood still. Then abruptly he spoke.
"Can we go somewhere and talk?"
"Well—I have one more class. I'll tell you what. Let's meet here in an hour and a half. Then we can go down to McCarthy Park. I usually enjoy feeding the ducks."
Jock looked at her again in that strange way and then replied "Sure!" and walked away. Jess didn't know what to make of Jock. By far he had to be the most interesting man she had ever encountered.
